MYOB AccountRight has an auto-build feature which implements a simple Bill-of-Materials (BOM) functionality.
As an example the built item 123 Filter Kit No 1 Large is defined as components of existing inventory items
Item | Name | Qty |
100 | Onga Pump | 1 |
120 | Onga Filter | 1 |
410 | Chlorinator - Large | 1 |
560 | Salws 1 Kg | 5 |
650 | Water test kit | 1 |
The mapping Item Sales vs All Inventory is used for analysing sales over time and is also used in planning restocking however when the above sales of the BOM item 123 Filter Kit No 1 Large are reported it does not show the component item sales ie. the depletion of the component stock.
To show an example this we will use two invoices. This first one is an invoice for 2 x 123 Filter Kit No 1 Large
and this next invoice independent sales of 3 x item 120 Onga Filter which is also a component used in the BOM item above.
A report using mapping Item Sales vs All Inventory will show the sales but not the component usage when the Built Item 123 Filter Kit No 1 Large is sold.
A new mapping Item BOM vs All Inventory is available to handle BOM Component usage. It has new dimensions and filters for Activity and the BuiltItem. ( To see how to create these reports watch video at end of article )
Select this mapping and run dimension Item by Weeks with no filters or grouping and all the sales are shown of both individual sales and components of the built item as well as the built item itself Filter Kit No 1 Large *
If the report dimesions are changed to analyse by Item and BuiltItem and be grouped by Activity then the sales of Individual item and the built item are shown under Sales and the sales of components of the built item are shown under Sales BOM Components.
Or the report could be analysed by Activity and grouped by Item and filtered by the items to be replenished.
these are the filters appied above.
