The WorkBook Analyse Sales and Margins [Base] provides analysis of sales, costs and margin of Sales data over any of the dimensions available in the connected software and these include Customer, Customer attributes, Item, Item attributes and other dimensions. Drill to detail transactions is available.
The data used to produce this is sourced from the accounting software API and includes Item Code, Sales Price, Cost Of Goods and Discounts. The Xero Invoice API however does not provide the Cost Of Goods on the invoice line. Without COGS Gross profit and Margin % is not possible.
To work around this the Bi4Cloud extraction process also read the GL distribution of the invoice and the journal associated with that which provides not only the Sales distributions but also the system journals for Stock Valuation and Cost of Goods.
Given this technique Bi4Cloud is able provide line level margin analysis in Item sales.
